This Week in Halton Hills Real Estate

I've had a few people ask me this week if things have slowed down.

My answer is... a little, but not as much as you might think.

We're into August now, and last weekend was the Civic Holiday, so it was a short week. Some families are on vacation, others are getting ready for the kids to head back to school. That's pretty normal this time of year.

Even with that, 17 homes sold and 10 sold conditionally last week. That's 27 families making a move.

Great numbers for a short week!

Last Week in Halton Hills

  • 23 new listings
  • 17 homes sold
  • 10 homes sold conditionally
  • 20 homes came off the market
  • 7 listings expired
  • Average sold price: $1,342,889
  • Homes sold for 93% of asking price
  • Average days on market: 39

What This Means

One thing I always remind people is that real estate doesn't stop because it's summer.

People still get transferred for work, families still want to move before school starts, and life keeps moving.

That's why it's always more important to look at what's happening here in Halton Hills than to rely on national headlines.

Buying Right Now

August can be a great time to buy. New homes are still coming on the market, and buyers often have a little more time to make a decision than they do during the spring.

Selling Right Now

Buyers are still out there, but they're comparing every home they see. Pricing your home where today's market is from the start gives you the best chance of selling without having to reduce your price later.

I'll be back next week.
